Ana Menjibar, is a Spanish-German dancer and visual artist born and based in Berlin. She graduated in 2008 from the University of the Arts Berlin.

Her art takes shape in two forms as a performative flamenco dancer and as a multi-disciplinary artist. As a flamenco dancer, she tries to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. With her artworks, she focuses on photography, video and performance art often using dance elements as starting points.

Due to her Spanish background, she started to study flamenco dance at an early age and still continuously seeks for new input and inspiration. Ana Menjibar performs as a soloist and also with changing ensembles. She has been chosen to perform across Europe at renown stages and festivals. For instance, the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie Berlin, Opernhaus Oslo, various Flamencofestivals a.s.o. Since 2011 she has appeared as a soloist in „Carmen“, directed by Sebastian Baumgarten, at the Komische Oper Berlin.

She continuously explores and deepens a conceptual vision using Flamenco as a language. In 2015, for the Instituto Cervantes of Berlin, she developed an exhibition called „Por Seguiriya”. In 2016 she co-created the dance production and the visual concept „Fragil” for Leonor Leal, that premiered in the Flamenco Festival of Düsseldorf. In the same year, she exhibited in the Ateneo of Malaga „Ida y Vuelta – A Sensory Journey“ – a conceptual exhibition about Flamenco which also showcased an interactive dance performance.

Since 2016 she collaborates with Kid Simius, an electronic live artist, dj, and music producer. Together they created the project „Berlin Flamenco Ensemble“, an experiment where electronic music interacts with Flamenco.
